Computer issues that forced ground stop have been fixed

United Airlines was forced into a ground stop, meaning all its U.S. flights were grounded for two hours due to "network connectivity problems.” These issues occurred early in the day on July 8. Airports across the country were showing blank screens for United where the departures and arrivals usually are displayed. The line-ups started to build causing for frustration among passengers. Ticket agents were forced to use good old fashioned paper and pens as a way to check their passengers in.
United Airlines has stated that it will give waivers to passengers who have to rebook their flights. During the network issues passengers were advised by the airline to check their flight status before departing for the airport in case theirs ended up being delayed as well.
