Malaysia Airlines is approaching its tracking of long-haul flights in a new way by tracking them every 15 minutes or even less. This process was suggested by the UN aviation agency and is in response to the airline's flight MH370 that disappeared. There have been more measures put in place too, such as improved co-ordination between the civil aviation authorities and military in Malaysia in hopes that nothing like that will ever happen again when it came to the investigation problems.
There is no need to install new equipment as the system will use the existing on-board data that is collected.
