Travelers will now have more reason to choose Ryanair as it is expanding its offerings and launching flights from Israel to Eilat. The flights will take place this winter which is the perfect time to visit the Red Sea resort city. Ryanair hopes this destination will act as an alternative to the Canary Islands for European travelers.
"There is a growing appetite for winter sun in central and Eastern Europe," said David O'Brien, chief commercial officer, Ryanair. "We expect other airlines to follow our lead." The route will begin in November and there will be six flights a week from Budapest; Krakow, Poland; and Kaunas, Lithuania to Ovda Airport, which is north of Eilat. The airline is expecting to fly approximately 40,000 passengers between November and March on the routes.
