Jon Gnarr, mayor of Reykjavik, wants Canadian travelers to come to Iceland and realize the amazing things to see and do in Reykjavik and surrounding areas. Non-stop flights will begin in March. The mayor thinks more people should check out the city for its quirks and treasures.
First off, there are no mosquitoes. Coming from Canada, that’s a big deal. Other things to draw people to the capital of Iceland: Bjork, a low crime rate, horses, active volcanoes, fermented shark meat, and the beauty of the area.
Another thing to love about the city is the phone book: people are listed by first name and occupation.
The city is very small so everything is within walking distance. It’s cool there, though, so take a sweater.
