Violence Erupts at Chinese Airports over a String of Delays in Summer Flights
Passengers have been violently attacking unfortunate staff members at airports across China that have been experiencing delays throughout the summer. Despite the fact that China has spent billions constructing the most advanced airports, they have not been able to maintain an on-time flight schedule between these airports. According to Flightstats.com, last month a mere 18% of the 22,000 flights out of Beijing’s Capital Airport departed on time.
Not only was the Beijing airport the worst major airport in the world when it comes to on-time flights, but none of China’s airports have been able to get even half of their flights to depart on-time. This has caused eight different protests of angry passengers who have mobbed the departure gates during the past two months. Hong Kong Airlines is even providing their cabin crew with a form of kung fu training in case they have to deal with angry passengers. The problems with on-time service has been caused by a sudden increase in air traffic.
