Former United Airlines flight attendant Patrick Cau, who is also known as Patrick Kaiser, age 40, pleaded guilty on Monday morning to making false bomb threats against the airline. Cau pleaded guilty to United States District Judge Otis D. Wright, II, who will hand down a sentence on November 18. The sentence could see Cau spending as much as five years in prison, which is the statutory maximum penalty.
Cau pleaded guilty to one count of false information and hoaxes, but he made a plea agreement which was filed earlier this month in which he admitted to making eight bomb threats against United between October 2012 and January 2013. All calls were made from pay phones in various cities across the U.S. and all threats required multiple law enforcement agencies to respond.
