It has been announced that Romania’s Iasi International Airport will introduce direct flights to Munich, Germany, starting on October 25. There will be two flights per week that will operate on Thursdays and Sundays. The Thursday flights will depart Iasi at 7:00 am and arrive in Munich at 8:25 am. Sunday flights will depart Iasi at 2:20 pm. Departing flights from Munich will be at 9:10 am on Thursdays and 4:50 pm on Sundays.
Marius Bodea, president of Iasi International Airport Board, said they have had numerous discussions with business representatives over the past two years. The demand for the route has been clearly present and they have been able to bring in other destinations. But Bodea said the Munich route is difficult because it is not supported by ethnic traffic. Instead, it will offer the opportunity of business growth at Iasi.
