As Ramadan generally brings with it a decrease in the number of people flying, Austrian Airlines has, in anticipation of the lower numbers, reduced the number of flights to Libya during July and August. A spokesperson for the airline said they have reduced the flights on a few Tuesdays, which will affect only five round-trip flights between July 9 and August 6. Aside from these changes, the other flights to Libya will run as normal.
Lufthansa has different plans. According to a spokesperson for the German airline, they plan on making no changes at all to the frequency of flights to Libya during Ramadan. This spokesperson did speculate, however, that if the numbers of passengers go down due to Ramadan, that other airlines might also reduce the number of flights they operate to Libya.
