Several of the country’s busiest airline hubs were frustrated by the weather on Thursday. Storms in Dallas and Houston and more in the Northeast caused delays at several airports. Low clouds and thunderstorms interfered with western flight, which caused issues at JFK, Newark Liberty, Philadelphia, and LaGuardia. The West Coast wasn’t let off the hook, either, with reduced visibility and low clouds hampering flights in Seattle and San Francisco. As time went on, the problems got worse. As of 2:15 pm, 780 delays and 575 cancelations were reported by FlightAware. Almost every major airport in the mid-Atlantic area reported long delays by mid-afternoon. All travelers were advised to check with airlines before heading to the airport.
