Darwin Airlines has launched its first flights from Cambridge to four destinations, including Amsterdam, Geneva, Paris, and Milan. In addition, Darwin Airlines has made a deal with Etihad Airlines, which will allow their passengers to connect to more destinations through Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub. This means that passengers can check their luggage through to their final Etihad destination.
David Surley, head of business and route development at Cambridge airport, said the agreement between the airlines gives Cambridge a worldwide reach, especially as Etihad is one of the fastest growing airlines in the world. Christian Schneider, Darwin’s chief commercial officer, added his two cents worth by saying that they are thrilled to be able to link to Etihad’s long-haul flights from their four destinations.
