NewLeaf Travel Company, based out of Hamilton, has had operations delayed by bureaucratic problems. The new airline was supposed to start its ultra-low cost flights from Hamilton starting on February 12, but on Monday an official announced that flights have been delayed until at least spring. Federal licensing issues are to blame, according to the company's president, Jim Young. “We didn't want to be put in a situation where we got closer to launching our service and then have to cancel at that time and putting people out. By giving everybody more than 28 days from our first flights the chance to make other arrangements we wanted to serve the community best.”
NewLeaf will sell seats while Flair Airlines Ltd. is to provide the aircraft and crews.
