Budget carrier Cebu-Pacific is looking to purchase an up-to-date passenger jetliner in an attempt to expand its fleet and looks toward operating long-haul flights. Alex Reyes, head of the newly established long-haul operations division for Cebu Pacific, said the airline is considering adding either an Airbus A350 or a Boeing 787 Dreamliner to their fleet. Last week, the airline took delivery of their very first wide-body plane, a 436-seater Airbus A330-300.
Before the delivery of the new Airbus A330-300, the airline was operating flights on A320s, which are smaller aircraft that are capable only of short-haul flights. Reyes says that the next generation of aircraft is now available, meaning the Dreamliner and the A350, and these options offer fuel savings and a flight range of up to 7000 miles per flight. They can also carry between 200 and 300 passengers.
