TheMEC for Economic Development and Tourism, Mike Mabuyakhulu, has said that negotiations are in progress to potentially bring direct flights from Durban’s Shaka International Airport to the Seychelles. Mabuyakhulu’s announcement came during a visit to the Seychelles that was made to strengthen economic ties and tourism with the very popular island nation.
The announcement about direct flights to the Seychelles comes just weeks after Mabuyakhulu announced at a trade and media conference that there were discussions with various airlines regarding direct flights between Durban and India. In addition, KZN Sharks Board is helping the Seychelles install shark nets along its coast as there were two fatal shark attacks in 2011.
