The monthly Air Travel Consumer Report that looked at the 14 major American airlines discovered that only half of Southwest Airlines flights take off as scheduled, and this in turn leads to lost bags. A flight is considered “on time” if it arrives within 15 minutes of when it is supposed to arrive.
Of all the major airlines, just under 77 percent arrived on time. The airport with the worst score was Newark Airport, with only 63.8 percent of flights arriving on time. Alaska Airlines had the best on-time rate with 72.6 percent. The airline with the most canceled flights was ExpressJet and Delta and Alaska both had the least canceled flights
