Trying to determine if it’s worth it to pay more now to get free flights later is sometimes more hassle than it is worth, because every airline offers different rewards and redeems its loyalty currency differently. A new report might change that. The study, conducted in March by IdeaWorks, shows that JetBlue’s TrueBlue program offers customers the best payback out of all of the most popular U.S. airlines with 7.9 percent payback. Alaska Airlines came in a close second with 7.8 percent payback. The study determined how many times a person would have to fly before he or she earned an equivalent free flight in collected points.
