Nextjet, a new airline that just launched flights between Peterborough and Montreal and will soon offer morning flights between Montreal and Kitchener might be offering flights between Waterloo and Toronto later this year. Nextjet president Tan Ahmed said the flights would cost around $100 each way and would take about 20 minutes to go from Waterloo International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. According to Ahmed, “We have a lot of people who are looking for that service.” Before now, the mayors of the two cities have said that a high-speed rail or all-day GO service is needed to help the idea of a tech corridor. Ahmed said that he sees his airline’s service as being a compliment to other transportation services.
