According to the latest figures from Statistics Canada, the average domestic ticket price on major Canadian airlines stayed at a six-year low in the third quarter of 2015. In its report this week, Stats Canada said that the average one-way domestic flight cost travellers an average of $175.70 before taxes and fees. This is down from $187.60 in 2014. Domestic flights, which are down $12, is what allows the country’s overall rates to stay at their lowest level in six years. The total cost of a ticket, however, still remains high due to security fees, fuel surcharges, airport improvement fees, and other charges are constantly going up.
