Flights Cancelled and Delayed after Plane Crash at San Francisco Airport
In order to ensure crews could respond to a plane that crashed during landing at San Francisco International Airport, the airport has suspended all flights into and out of the airport. A total of 17 flights have been cancelled or delayed. Port of Portland spokesperson Josh Thomas cautions all passengers to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport. They can do so on the FlyPDX website.
The majority of incoming flights to San Francisco are being rerouted to Oakland and Sacramento and Portland International Airport has also seen an increase in activity. Two flights, one from London and one from Frankfurt were rerouted to Portland. Thomas said that all west coast airports are coordinating with each other to ensure an even distribution of the rerouted flights so that no one airport is overly busy.
