In American Airlines’ First Class cabins, some passengers may lose their meal service depending on duration of the flight. Meals less than two hours long will no longer receive meals, so those to domestic flights within the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Mexico will be affected. Passengers on flights less than an hour long will get a packaged snack and those on flights 60 to 119 minutes in duration will get a basket with a variety of “sweet and savoury snack options.”
Flights that are between two hours and two hours and 45 minutes will get a snack basket with sandwiches or breakfast breads and fresh fruit. Some critics are saying that to remove free meals from First Class flights is a money-saving gesture that shouldn’t be done on those higher-priced seats.
