Colombia Regional Airport is set to offer daily non-stop flights to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The flights will begin on June 7 and are being held in partnership with Delta Airlines. The Atlanta airport is the busiest in the world, serving more than 230 destinations in 53 countries. Flights will depart Colombia at 10:10 am and the return flight will depart Atlanta at 4:15 pm.
According to Mayor Bob McDavid, these new flights are the first step toward an initiative known as “40 in 2020.” This initiative will see Colombia Regional Airport hosting 40% of all airline travel for mid-Missourians by 2020. He said they are targeting the 600 mid-Missourians who drive to St. Louis Lambert International Airport and the 300 mid-Missourians who drive to Kansas City International Airport. They want them to fly out of Colombia Regional Airport.
