Dubai-based airline Dubai Etihad Airways has begun its newly-scheduled flights to Shanghai. Flights are scheduled to run five days a week from Abu Dhabi to Pudong International Airport in Shanghai, China. This initial schedule will give way to daily service as of April 15. According to James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, this is the very first non-stop service from Abu Dhabi to Shanghai.
Hogan also says that the new flights add more than just another destination to Etihad's global network. It also brings together the UAE and the mainland China closer together, a great pairing of UAE's capital with the financial and commercial presence of China. The flights will be done on Airbus A330-300 and offers First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class seating. In addition, Etihad has started code sharing with Hainan Airlines of China.
