NYC to Paris Common Flight Facts

If this is your first time flying from NYC to Paris, France, then you've come to the right place. This article is filled with all the common flight facts you'll need to know about traveling from NYC to Paris, France.

NYC Airport Details

New York is known for its hustle and bustle. Their airport is included in that description, and for good reason I might add. You won't be finding any of New York's airports on a list for most frequently on time flights, to say the least. It's important to be aware of the different airports when booking your flight to New York. There are 3 major airports located in or near the city. JFK, Newark and LaGuardia.

JFK is located in Southern Queens, although it's often mistaken to be in Brooklyn. This airport is one of the busiest, if not, the busiest in New York City. Whether you're departing, or arriving, be prepared for the customs lines. It can easily add on a few extra hours to your wait, so it's a good idea to take this into account when booking your flight. Newark is located in New Jersey, which is great if you're staying on the West side of Manhattan, but horrible if you're in Brooklyn or Queens. It could either be a lot faster than JFK, or a lot worse. The gamble is up to you, but it's another option if you're looking for one. That's for sure. Then there's LaGuardia airport, located in Northern Queens. It's perfect for those staying in Long Island, or anywhere else on the Eastside. It's not known for being timely. This airport is ranked one of the worst in the U.S. for flight cancellations and delays.

Paris, France Airport Details

From one busy city, to another, Paris, France. The city of love has 2 main airports for most flights, and another smaller, further away airport for lower budget airlines. The first main airport is Charles De Gualle International Airport. This is Paris' biggest, and busiest international airport, Europe's 2nd busiest airport, following London Heathrow, and the 10th busiest in the world! That's saying a lot for one airport. This airport is located 20 miles Northeast of the City Center. It takes about 30 minutes to an hour to travel from the airport to the city, or vice versa. The train is the fastest way to travel between Paris and Charles De Gualle. If you're traveling to Paris as a tourist, one option is to purchase a Paris Visite Pass from the airport railway station. It allows you to use the RER trains, subway and the buses freely during the time of your choosing.

The next main airport is Orly, which is located only 10 miles from downtown Paris. This airport serves as a second international airport for Paris. While Charles De Gualle is the biggest international airport, Orly still has a number of domestic routes, as well as routes to North America, Africa and the Middle East. The smaller, runt of the airports, located 53 miles outside of Paris, is Paris Beauvais. This airport is known for budget airlines who are looking to fly into Paris, well near it, for a lower cost than it would to fly into CDG or Orly. This airport brings in around 6 million people annually.
